WanderNotes 1.53.0

Tables in notes get a proper toolbar — add, remove, merge, split, and toggle headers from a menu that follows the table — plus collapsible Details blocks from the slash menu.

4 September 2026

This release is about tables in the note editor. Editing one used to mean finding a thin, invisible bar on the table's edge and clicking or dragging it, which only ever added or removed rows and columns at the end. Now a toolbar appears whenever your cursor is in a table and does everything a table needs, wherever you are in it.

✨ What's new

  • A table toolbar that follows your cursor. Click into any table and a floating toolbar appears just above it; click out and it goes away. It carries every table action in five groups: Add column before, Add column after, and Delete column; Add row before, Add row after, and Delete row; Merge cells and Split cell; Toggle header row and Toggle header column; and Delete table. Actions work relative to the cell you're in, so you can insert a row in the middle of a table rather than only at the bottom, and ones that don't apply — like merging when only one cell is selected — are greyed out. The toolbar stays pinned to the table as you scroll, flips below it when there's no room above, and keeps its normal size even when the editor is zoomed.

  • Collapsible Details blocks. Type / and pick Details to insert a block with a summary line and hidden content underneath, which opens and closes on a click. Useful for tucking away long reference material, spoilers, or anything you don't need to see every time you open the note.

🚀 Improvements

  • Finer column resizing. The resize handle between columns is narrower and its indicator line is now a hairline instead of a thick bar, columns can shrink a little further (down to 50px from 60px), and tables no longer force a fixed layout, so column widths follow their content more naturally.

  • A calmer "generating" indicator in conversations. The bouncing dots that sat at the bottom of the thread while a reply was on its way are replaced by a small spinner alongside your message.

🧹 Under the hood

  • The editor and UI libraries were updated (Mantine 9.6, Tiptap 3.31), and a handful of components and styles that were no longer used anywhere — an old floating window, a standalone delete-note button, and a retired error message — were removed.
